Abstract
This paper reports on the synthesis and the characterization of CoFe2O4 and CoFe2O4/Co3O4 nanofibers prepared by Electrospinning. The samples with various weight ratios of Co/Fe were characterized by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD), and Raman spectroscopy. The results show that by increasing the weight ratio of Co/Fe, a mix of phases CoFe2O4/Co3O4 has been detected. The one dimensional morphology is conserved till a critical weight ratio Co/Fe of 1.08 above which the nanostructures completely lose their morphology. These results provide a promising lead for the future synthesis of a variety of CoFe2O4 based nanofiber morphologies with controllable diameter and crystalline structure.
