A eutectic Zr-B alloy was proposed to fabricate ZrB2 modified C/ZrC composite by reactive melt infiltration and experimentally confirmed. The resulting C/ZrC composite composed of ZrC, ZrB2 and carbon is free of residual metal phase and presents excellent ablation resistance.
