Abstract
•A coordination polymeric gelator was synthesized in this paper.•The gelator was characterized by 1H NMR, FT-IR, FE-SEM and UV-vis.•The gelator forms a gel which exhibits thixotropic and stimuli responsive behavior.•The gel exhibited antibacterial properties against some bacteria.
A coordination polymeric gelator based on Ag(I) and 2, 7-bis(1-imidazole) fluorene was synthesized and characterized by 1H NMR, FT-IR, FE-SEM, UV–vis. The gelator forms a gel which exhibits thixotropic behavior and stimuli responsive to S2−, I− and displays antibacterial properties against Bacillus subtilis, Streptococcus aureus and Escherchia coli bacteria.
