Abstract
The effects of textured fluorine doped tin oxide (FTO) as transparent electrodes for inverted polymer solar cells have been investigated. Textured FTO, together with rough surface morphology transferred to AZO modified layer, active layer and a reflective back electrode induced efficient light scattering. Due to the enhanced light absorption at visible light region (400-650Â nm) by light-scattering, the short current density of the textured-FTO device increased from 9.97Â mA/cm2 to 11.62Â mA/cm2 over the reference cell based on the ITO substrate. Power conversion efficiency increased from 2.47% to 2.91% without loss in the fill factor and open circuit voltage.
