Abstract
•BaSnO3 was synthesized by sol–gel method.•Obtained single phase cubic perovskite after calcinig at 1000 °C for 4 h.•The maximum conductivity was found to be 3.63×10−3 S cm−1 at 650 °C.•The calculated activation energy from ac conductivity was 0.50 eV.
In the present work we report the synthesis, crystal structure and charge transport properties of BaSnO3. The powder X-ray diffraction showed the formation of single phase with cubic structure. The total conductivity was measured using complex impedance analysis. The maximum conductivity was found to be 3.63×10−3 S cm−1 at 650 °C. The total conductivity was found to increase with increase in temperature.
