Abstract

•Graphite nanosheet was precipitated by magnetoplumbite ferrite.•The composites were characterized by SEM, XRD, EDS and FTIR.•The composites are hard ferrites with high Ms, H and Mr.•BaFe12O19/NanoG has high microwave absorbing properties.

After pretreated, graphite nanosheet was precipitated by magnetoplumbite ferrite to produce a microwave absorbing material BaFe12O19/NanoG. The structure of the material was characterized by scanning electron microscopy, energy dispersive spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction and transmission electron microscopy. The crystal parameters of BaFe12O19 in BaFe12O19/NanoG are as follows: a=0.5895 nm, c=2.3047 nm, c/a=3.9096 nm, and D=87.3 nm. The reflection loss of BaFe12O19/NanoG is between −16 dB and −17 dB; the minimum loss is −17.06 dB at 9.27 GHz.
