•The influence of the aqueous medium nature on the energetic performances of Silicalite-1 zeolite.•The stored energy is tripled in the case of “Silicalite-1 – LiCl, 3H2O” system.•This strategy seems transposable to other porous materials.
The energetic performance of different “Silicalite-1 – aqueous medium” systems was evaluated under high pressure. Depending on the nature of the aqueous medium, high intrusion and extrusion pressures and therefore stored and restored energies are observed. Thus, compared to the “Silicalite-1 – water” system, the stored energy is tripled in the case of “Silicalite-1 – LiCl, 3H2O” system.
Graphical abstractThe addition of salts into the “Silicalite-1 – aqueous medium” system strongly increases the energetic performances of Silicalite-1 zeolite under high pressure.Figure optionsDownload full-size imageDownload as PowerPoint slide
