Abstract

Superparamagnetic γ-Fe2O3/silica nanotubes were synthesized by calcinating MWCNTs template among the silica coated MWCNTs/Fe3O4 nanocomposites fabricated using the Stöber method.

► The γ-Fe2O3/silica nanotubes were synthesized by calcinating MWCNTs template among the silica coated MWCNTs/Fe3O4 nanocomposites. ► The γ-Fe2O3/silica nanotubes exhibit superparamagnetic behavior. ► The γ-Fe2O3/silica nanotubes have significant potential applications in the composites, wastewater treatment, sensors and biomaterials.
