Abstract
Bismuth (Bi) nanoparticles have been prepared by a hybrid solution-based high temperature route. Capping groups such as tri-n-octylphosphine oxide (TOPO), oleylamine (OA) and hexadecylamine (HDA) were used to passivate the bismuth nanoparticles. Bismuth particles in the form of dots, branched nanorods and self assembled cubes were obtained at different reaction conditions.
