Abstract

Plasmonic catalyst Ag2WO4/AgCl nanorods have been synthesized successfully by a hydrothermal method. The as-prepared product was investigated by X-ray diffraction (XRD), field-emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM), respectively. The morphology and size of the as-prepared samples can be adjusted by varying the amount of NaCl. The as-prepared Ag2WO4/AgCl nanorods exhibit excellent photodegradation of Rhodamine (RhB) under visible light irradiation due to the surface plasmon resonance (SPR) absorption of Ag nanocrystals and remarkable photocatalytic activity by converting some Ag ions to Ag0 species via visible light irradiation.
