Abstract
► Facile growth of horizontally suspended carbon nanotubes (CNTs) is reported. ► The thickness of HSCNT mats is tunable. ► The Raman spectra indicate an uneven quality distribution along CNTs. ► The distribution is ascribed to the decay of catalyst activity in CNT growth.
