Abstract
► Novel composites of porous catalysts are synthesized by the silica-surfactant self-assembly. ► The porous catalysts can significantly promote the rate of hydrogen generation. ► The rate of hydrogen generation increased with increasing cobalt loading of the Co/SiO2 catalyst.
