Abstract
A novel Co3Mo2Si/Coss in-situ metal-matrix composite coating consisting of hard and strong intermetallic Co3Mo2Si and ductile Co solid solution was fabricated by a laser cladding process. The microstructure of the coating was characterized and the wear property was evaluated under dry sliding wear test conditions. Results indicated that the coating displayed very excellent wear resistance, and was extremely insensitive to the load.
