Abstract
The effect of transitions between structural modifications of LaMnO3 +δ on the powder particle sizes has been experimentally investigated. Lanthanum manganite nanoparticles have been obtained under phase transition from the orthorhombic structure Pnma I prepared by the solid-phase synthesis to the orthorhombic one Pnma II. The average particle size changes from several micrometers for the as-prepared sample to 14nm under phase transition. The average particle size in the sample synthesized by the sol–gel method is about 80nm and does not virtually change under phase transition to Pnma II.
