Abstract
Core–shell polyaniline/V2O5 (Pani/V2O5) nanocomposites “egg like” cores and shell ranging in diameter from 40 to 80 nm and 60 to 120 nm respectively, have been prepared successfully using hexadecyl trimethyl ammonium bromide (CTAB) microemulsion. The structures of core–shell Pani/V2O5 nanocomposites were characterized by X-ray powder diffraction (XRD), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), Fourier transform infrared (FTIR),thermo gravimetric analysis(TG-DTA) and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). Results from FTIR and TG-DTA show there is some interaction between V2O5 and polyaniline in composite and the prepared nanocomposite shows better thermal stability compared to pure polyaniline.
