Abstract
This paper reports on the emission and structural details of a newly synthesized green luminescent Tb3+:MgLaLiSi2O7 powder phosphor by a solid state reaction method from the measurement of its photoluminescence, XRD, SEM & FTIR spectra. A bright green emission (5D4 → 7F5 at 543 nm) has been observed from the Tb3+:MgLaLiSi2O7 powder phosphor under an UV source (254 nm). Based on the green emission performance, the Tb3+ concentration has been optimized to be at 0.3 mol%. From the emission results of Tb3+: MgLaLiSi2O7 powder phosphor, it could be suggested as a novel green luminescent material.
