Abstract
Nano-Ag spot-coated polymethylmethacrylate (PMMA) powders were synthesized by the hydrothermal-assisted attachment (HAA) method using oleic acid-capped Ag hydrosol in a high-pressure bomb at 250 °C and 450 psi, respectively. The oleic acid-capped Ag hydrosol with a high specific surface was successfully synthesized through the precipitation-redispersion method. The oleic acid-capped Ag nano-particles showed a narrow size distribution and were less than 20 nm in diameter. In the case of the nano-Ag spot-coated PMMA powders, nano-sized Ag particles adhered onto the surface of the PMMA through the HAA method. The components of C, O, and Ag were homogeneously distributed on the PMMA coating layer.
