Abstract
The crystal structure and thermal expansion behavior of CuSb2Ti5 have been investigated from 298 K to 773 K by X-ray powder diffraction. It is concluded that CuSb2Ti5 remains tetragonal in space group I4/mcm (No. 140) with the W5Si3-type structure over the entire temperature range. The average thermal expansion coefficients αa and αc of CuSb2Ti5 are 9.6 × 10− 6 and 18 × 10− 6 K− 1, respectively. The bulk thermal expansion coefficient αv is 38 × 10− 6 K− 1. The Debye temperature of CuSb2Ti5 is calculated to be ΘD = 404 K.
