Abstract
Single crystal of 1,3 Diglycinyl thiourea (DGT), a new Organic nonlinear optical material has been grown from solution by slow cooling technique. Formation of the new crystal has been confirmed by single crystal XRD and FTIR spectra. DGT belongs to monoclinic system with cell parameters a = 5.091 Å, b = 11.980 Å, c = 5.45 Å. Optical transmission spectra revealed the optical properties of the grown crystal. The thermal stability of the crystal is investigated using thermo-gravimetric analysis studies. The NLO property of the crystal was confirmed by powder SHG test.
