Abstract

The liquid structure of molten Cu–25 wt.% Sn was investigated using viscometry and magnetic susceptibility measure device. Viscosity of melt decreases with increasing temperature on the whole. However, an anomalous transition point was observed on the curve of viscosity in the liquid Cu–25 wt.% Sn alloy. Magnetic susceptibility discontinuous change corresponds to the anomalous transition point on the viscosity–temperature curves. It is presumed that the evolution from medium range order to short range order occurred at the anomalous transition point of viscosity and magnetic susceptibility in melt.
