Abstract
Lithium nickel manganese oxide of LiNi2 / 3Mn1 / 3O2 with α-NaFeO2 type layered structure was prepared by a new process with layered double hydroxide NiMn-LDHs and LiOH·H2O as precursors in the temperature ranging from 450 to 950 °C. Among all the products, LiNi2 / 3Mn1 / 3O2 prepared at 750 °C delivered an initial discharge capacity of 187 mAh/g in the potential region of 2.5–4.5 V vs. lithium, and remained as high as 160 mAh/g in the 10th cycle.
