Abstract
Open cell aluminum foams were synthesized by the space-holder method. NaCl particles as space-holder were used to produce samples. The effect of the Y2O3, which was added to the aluminum powders on the mechanical properties of the open cell aluminum foams, has been studied. Adding Y2O3 powders in the compacts has important effect on the foams showing better mechanical properties than those without Y2O3.
