Abstract
Second-order NLO chromophores used for main chain polymers have been designed, synthesized and characterized by 1H NMR and FTIR. Their structures were optimized, and μg and βo were calculated using the AM1/FF method. The doping film in PMMA was prepared and poled by the electric field. The poling efficiency is about 16.5%, and the macroscopic nonlinearity d33 is estimated to be 19.8 pm/v. The temporal stability was measured and the result showed that 65% of the initial signal remained after 500 h at room temperature.
