Abstract
Cadmium(II) complexes of new polydentate dithiocarbamates with benzyl or methylferrocene as substituents have been prepared. The IR spectra of the complexes suggested a bidentate coordination of dithiocarbamate ligands to the cadmium ion. The thermal properties of cadmium complexes were studied by thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) and differential scanning calorimetry (DSC). Pyrolysis of cadmium complexes was further carried out at 700 °C and the products were characterized by powder X-ray diffraction (XRD), field emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM), and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). The pyrolysis of cadmium methylferrocene complex produced a product with nanofibers.
