Abstract
The effect of additives and the preparation conditions of homogeneous nanoparticles of ZnSe dispersed in polyvinylalcohol (PVA) on their structure and optical properties were studied. The structure of the nanoparticles was investigated by transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and X-ray diffraction (XRD). The electronic and the optical properties were investigated by ultraviolet–visible–near infrared (UV–VIS–NIR), and Fourier transformation infrared (FT-IR) spectroscopy techniques. The composites were demonstrated to be used in opto-electronic and nonlinear optical devices as well as in devices where high-dielectric constant materials are employed.
