Abstract
The magnetic and magnetocaloric properties of polycrystalline perovskite La0.70Ca0.20Sr0.10MnO3 were investigated. Upon the magnetic field changes of 2 T and 6 T, the maximum magnetic entropy changes |ΔSMmax| of La0.70Ca0.20Sr0.10MnO3 are 3.6 J·kg−1·K−1 and 6.7 J·kg−1·K−1, respectively, near its Curie temperature TC (308 K). As magnetic field change increased, the magnetic entropy change |ΔSM| increased nonlinearly and increased fastest near TC. In a temperature range of 11 K, |ΔSM| due to a magnetic field change of 2 T exceeds 80% of |ΔSMmax|.
