Abstract
► A rough and porous micro-arc oxidation (MAO) coating was generated on ZK60 alloy. ► The MAO-coated ZK60 alloy exhibited a great improvement of biocompatibility. ► The MAO-coated ZK60 alloy showed an enhancement of bioactivity.
