Abstract
⺠High velocity suspension flame sprayed (HVSFS) bioglass coatings onto Ti plates. ⺠Coating microstructure is controlled by the heat flux from the HVSFS torch. ⺠Tensile adhesion strength is improved by using a plasma-sprayed TiO2 bond coat. ⺠Coatings develop a hydroxyapatite layer when soaked in simulated body fluid (SBF). ⺠Promising coatings when short osseointegration times are required.
