Abstract
⺠PEO coatings are formed on Zircaloy-4 using an AC regime. ⺠Coating microstructure and composition are determined for different coating times. ⺠Corrosion protection is assessed in hot nitric acid. ⺠The main protection is shown to be afforded by the barrier layer at the coating base.
