Abstract
⺠AISI 8620 steel surface successfully modified with TIG method by using SiC and variable C powders. ⺠Added C (graphite) content improves hard surface structure and creates carbide phases. ⺠Increasing C (graphite) content affects coefficient of friction which is in a negative way. ⺠Hardness and wear rates can improve SiC/C content.
