Abstract
► Cavitating jet in air can introduce compressive residual stress into stainless steel. ► Introduce compressive residual stress on the surface was 500 MPa. ► The thickness of modified layer was about 0.4 mm. ► Introduced stress was estimated by considering frequency of cavitation impact. ► Cavitation impact energy can be evaluated by using a sensor with PVDF film.
