Abstract
⺠Cavitating jet in air can introduce compressive residual stress into stainless steel. ⺠Introduce compressive residual stress on the surface was 500 MPa. ⺠The thickness of modified layer was about 0.4 mm. ⺠Introduced stress was estimated by considering frequency of cavitation impact. ⺠Cavitation impact energy can be evaluated by using a sensor with PVDF film.
