Abstract

A β-NiAl coating, deposited by electron-beam physical vapour deposition (EB-PVD), and followed by post-treatments, was used as the oxidation resistant coating. Isothermal oxidation test was conducted at 1100 °C to study the influence of post-treatments on the oxidation rate of the coating. The oxidation resistance of the coated specimens was improved by approximately twice as compared to the uncoated specimen. This indicates that this kind of coating could be exploited as the protective coating used for high temperature oxidation resistance.
