Abstract
For the example of copper, the present investigation directly compares the different microstructures and properties of coatings like hardness, bond strength or electrical conductivity obtained by cold spraying and thermal spraying. A deeper view into the type of defects obtained, their stability and their influence on recovery and recrystallization is supplied by subsequent annealing procedures and respective analyses. In particular, these investigations after different heat treatments prove to be a suitable tool for a deeper understanding of cold spraying and thermal spraying.
