Abstract
Decomposition characteristics and scale-up or numbering-up of the micro plasma reactor for the carbon dioxide decomposition are studied by using computer simulations. The carbon dioxide conversion at the reactor outlet and the energy efficiency of the reactor are evaluated. Large-sized reactors have high energy efficiency, and scale-up is effective for decomposition efficiency. However, as high conversion of CO2 require heterogeneous reactions at a reactor wall and there is constraint of power supply of generating plasma, reactor diameter is limited to a few millimeters at most. Numbering-up is effective for high CO2 conversion.
