Abstract
In this paper the method of titanium dioxide porous thin films preparation using sol–gel dip-coating route is presented. Surface topography and tribological properties of these films were measured with the use of Atomic Force Microscopy. In order to find the influence of porosity level on the resistibility of the material, the wear tests were performed. The presence of porosity causes larger wear. Relative coefficients of friction exhibit a good correlation with surface roughness. Plastic deformations of porous films have an influence on the obtained frictional results.
