Abstract

Samples of Al/polyimide Langmuir–Blodgett(PI LB) films/Au deposited on a glass substrate (l / 4 the size of the microscope slide glass) have continuously released electrical energy without any excitatory operations of other sources. The time dependence of the voltage generated from the Al/PI LB films/Au was measured. The generated voltage was continued for about more than 2 years. The combustion enthalpy of polyimide was theoretically calculated. It is clear that the invariant release energy from Al/PI LB films/Au is more than the combustion enthalpy of polyimide. The invariant release energy is generated by the diffusion of electrons in PI LB films.
