Abstract
⺠We seek the probe width that maximizes the throughput of particle radii measurements in HAADF STEM.⺠Bayesian experimental design uses the particle radii distributions as prior knowledge.⺠The optimal probe size is determined by the geometrical mean and the width of the radii distributions.⺠The particles' atomic number and the detector geometry are of only marginal importance.⺠We propose an adaptive approach where the probe width is changed mid-experiment.
