Abstract
The in situ system for hydrogen isotopes detection and quantification is presented together with some results of experiments, studying hydrogen isotope interaction with tungsten, such as adsorption, retention and isotope exchange. For in situ and real time study of the surface and bulk process dynamics two ion beam techniques are used, ERDA and NRA. Capabilities of both methods are described. The adequacy of each method for specific type of experiment is explained with examples. The effect of the probing ion beam on the experimental results is also discussed.
