Abstract
In order to complement the scarce experimental data for activation of natSi in deuteron irradiations, we performed measurements with incident particle energy up to 50 MeV. The activation products 7Be, 22,24Na and 28Mg were assessed with HPGe spectroscopy and excitation functions for the corresponding natSi (d,x) reactions are presented. A comparison with the only previous experimental study and with results obtained from the codes EMPIRE-D, ALICE-D and the online libraries EAF2007 and TENDL2011 is made. Thick target yields and total induced activity for long exposures of Si containing structural elements or measuring devices around a high power deuteron accelerator were calculated.
