Abstract
The effect of electron irradiation on 3-amino-2-oxazolidinone (AOZ) solutions was investigated by liquid chromatography–tandem mass spectrometry (LC–MS–MS). The results showed that the degradation efficiency, the G value for AOZ’s degradation, varied with the dose of irradiation and original concentration of aqueous solutions. Upon the irradiation at 8 kGy, the concentration of solutions decreased from 667 ppb to less than 0.5 ppb. The radiolytic products were identified to determine no toxic products were formed.
