Abstract
In this article we investigate the effect that hybridization between the 5s- and 4d-orbitals of Ag has in the calculations of Auger neutralization rate and ion survival probability for grazing collisions of He+ with Ag(1 1 0) surfaces. We find that it is important to include hybridization to get good agreement with experimental results specially at high incident energies, when the ions get closer to the surface.
