Abstract
In this paper, we reported a new soybean mutant with multifoliolate compound leaf acquired by ion beam irradiation. The formation of multifoliolate compound leaf was related with lifecycle and mainly formed in the vegetative stage. The mutant lis has five types of compound leaves in a single plant and the frequency of different types of multifoliolate compound leaf is different. This is different from multifoliolate compound leaf soybean lines reported earlier. And the genetic analysis showed that this mutant is a putative recessive mutation. This is also different from the earlier report. This study indicates that ion beam irradiation may be used as mutagen to create new mutants for developmental biology study and could be a new aspect of ion beam application.
