Abstract
The K-X-ray intensity ratios for Ta, Au and Pb targets have been measured by adopting a 2π geometrical configuration with a weak radioactive 57Co gamma source. The spectrum of chararacteristic K-X-ray photons produced in the target are determined by using a HPGe detector coupled to a 8 K multichannel analyzer. From the X-ray intensity ratios, the radiative vacancy transfer probabilities from K to L have been determined. Good agreement between our measured values and the theoretical values as well as with the other experimental values indicates the validity of 2π geometrical configuration for vacancy transfer studies.
