The materials-affected manufacturing analysis aims to link the manufacturing process mechanics to the materials microstructure evolution dynamics, thus increasing the accuracy of the predicted process attributes and offering better understanding the material properties of the manufactured product. This methodology involves an iterative blending scheme in coupling with microstructural synthesis and material genome analysis to allow for the interactive effects of materials dynamics and processing mechanics to be considered simultaneously. The basic formulation, computational configuration, and experimental validation have been presented herein for the test bed of machining operation with material grain size variation and recrystallization in consideration.
