Abstract
In today's product lifecycle, the ability to control a product is limited once it has left the factory. Shifting from a static product to a dynamic product, which is adaptable to new development while it is in operation, supports extended sustainability. In a dynamic environment, products can be managed whilst on the market and be adapted to incorporate product developments. This paper will present an approach to evolve products during the entire lifecycle by using pre-planned milestones. Continuous implementation of changes to a product in the market will enable a paradigm shift in the use of mass-produced products.
