Abstract
High-tech automotive manufacturers are highly focused on adapting modern production processes, lightweight design and high safety standards in order to satisfy the increasing concerns of modern societies regarding the environmental impact of automotives. This goal is further related to quality issues in current production lines and the final product itself, especially in order to satisfy highly demanding market safety standards. In this paper adhesive bonding of attachments on alternate automotive shell surfaces in final assembly lines is analyzed as a potential technique in volume production. Different process chain scenarios are examined depending on the paint type in order to achieve the required bond strength.
