Abstract
The reaction of a dinuclear palladium complex [Pd2(CH3CN)6][X]2 (X = BF4, PF6) with excess furan afforded the sandwich-type bis-furan dinuclear palladium(I) complex [Pd2(μ-furan)2(CH3CN)2][X]2. The substitutionally labile bridging furan ligands in the dipalladium sandwich complex can be readily replaced with toluene to give the bis-toluene dipalladium(I) sandwich complex [Pd2(μ-toluene)2(CH3CN)2][X]2.
