Abstract

Simulation results and algebraic models of wall shear stress and pressure forces acting on the wavy surface in channels with turbulent flow are presented in dependence on channel height H  , ratio of the wavelength λλ to the wave amplitude a   and bulk velocity UbUb. The models have been designed using results of the set of steady numerical simulations computed by k  –∊∊ V2F turbulence model for various configurations defined by selection of ratio H/λH/λ in range from 0.6 to 1.4, steepness ratio λ/aλ/a in range from 20 to 200 and bulk velocity UbUb in range of Reynolds number Re=HUb/νRe=HUb/ν from 3830 to 89,366. The applicability of the k  –∊∊ V2F model is verified by DNS results and derived algebraic models are validated using experimental data and other models. Very good agreement with measurements is observed within a defined range of conditions.
