Abstract
An existence result for a singular third-order boundary value problem is proved in this work. Here the nonlinearity is of the form f(y)=(1−y)λg(y)f(y)=(1−y)λg(y), where λ>0λ>0 and g(y)g(y) is continuous and positive on (0,1](0,1], and the boundary conditions are y(0)=0,y(+∞)=1,y′(+∞)=y″(+∞)=0. The problem arises in the study of draining and coating flows.
