Abstract
The adsorption of Basic Violet 14 (BV14) from aqueous solution on bentonite was studied with respect to contact time, initial concentration, and presence of selected salts. It was found that the adsorption of BV14 increases with increasing initial BV14 concentration and decreases in the presence of salt. The experimental data can be well represented by Langmuir and Freundlich models. The maximum monolayer adsorption capacities obtained from the Langmuir model are 147.9 and 100 mg g−1 for Na-bentonite and Ca-bentonite, respectively.
